A simple but effective craft for toddlers/pre-school children. Especially good for those with special needs. This is an easy to prepare craft activity for a group of young children.
Materials
As many different textured materials as you can find (eg, fabric, fur, sandpaper, cellophane, foil, tracing paper etc) in a variety of colours
Self-adhesive reinforcement ring (optional)
Glue (PVA or glue sticks)
Preparation
Draw a fish on coloured paper. Cut the different textured materials into similar sized triangles (approximately 2-3cm).
Toddler Activity
Help your child to cut out the fish. Stick the fish to a piece of coloured paper or thin card. Stick the different texture triangle to the fish to represent scales. Draw on an eye or use a reinforcement ring.
